The Kedah Leg kicked off today in Ampang Superbowl, Sg. Petani where a total of 47 Girls Graded and 85 boys graded took to the lanes in 3 different squads.
Squad A of the Boys Graded checked in at 8.30am and at 9.00am sharp started competition. Low Wooi Kit from Alor Setar, Kedah took the lead after 8 games with a total score of 1512 pinfalls. He maintained his position after the Squad B of Boys graded finished playing. In 2nd place is another Kedahan, Mohd Amirul Che Amat who is only 1 pin behind Wooi Kit. Wooi Kit, Mohd Amirul and 46 other Boys Graded bowlers who were in the Top 48 after 8 games will be bowling their 2nd Round tomorrow afternoon.
Hanan Fateha from Kuala Lumpur is currently leading the Girls Graded but she only leads by 5 pins from 2nd position Nursyamimi Supardi of Perak. In 3rd position was another Perakian, Norsyazana Rosli, followed by Liew Li Jian of Kuala Lumpur and Nur Azlin of SSBP. The top 28 girls graded will be bowling another 6 games tomorrow to decide the Top 8 bowlers.
There was a short blackout during the Boys Graded Squad B as the machines were overworked. Luckily, the scores could be recovered and there was no need for a rebowl for the current game. Phew!
The Open bowlers will be playing tomorrow morning and the Top 20 Boys Open and Top 16 Girls Open will proceed to the 2nd Round.
