Selangor’s Nadya stuns Syaidatul to emerge champion

PETALING JAYA: Selangor's Nadya Izzati Noor Azman nailed her first SportExcel-Milo-NSC National Junior Bowling Circuit title at the Ampang Superbowl in Ipoh yesterday.

The 17-year-old national youth bowler defeated top seed Syaidatul Afifah Hamidi of Perak with a total two-game score of 347-339 in the final.

In the first game, Nadya bowled slightly better than Syaidatul for a 178-160 win. In the second game, she was beaten 169-179 but won on total pinfalls over two games.

Nadya's win ensured Perak's title drought in the girls' event in the circuit continued.

In the first two legs in Selangor and Kedah-Penang, the winners were Nor Amilia Mohd Nor of Selangor and Nur Diana Hussin of Kuala Lumpur respectively.

Meanwhile, Perak certainly got it right in the boys' competition when Mohd Amin Abdul Razak bagged his second consecutive circuit title after beating Mohd Shafiq Hashim of Selangor 450-384.

The fourth leg will be held in Terengganu this month at the Sukma (Malaysia Games) venue in the Main Stadium in Gong Badak. *Please take note that the next leg will be in Pahang from May 9-11*
