Fahmi Bahri - Winning the Boys Open and Men's Open Title
The 20-year-old Fahmi started the day in style when he bagged the national boys’ Masters title with a 10-game total of 2,140 pinfalls in the morning.
Later in the evening, Fahmi was in sizzling form to surprise the more renowned national bowlers to bag his first men’s Masters Open title.
Fahmi, who is doing a matriculation course at the Bandar Penawar Sports School (BPSS), finished third with a 10-game score of 2,206 to qualify for the step-ladder finals.
Fahmi defeated national bowler Adrian Ang 257-205, 237-182 and former international Azizi Ameran 192-204, 195-165, 202-179 to set up a showdown against another ex-international Mustafa Yassin.
The Johor lad was in top form as he defeated Mustafa 223-146, 246-186 in a best-of-three-game in the final to pocket the prize money of RM7,000 and his Masters Open title.
“I never thought I would win the title as I was up against the national bowlers in the competition. I just kept my cool and I was surprised that I bowled so well in the step-ladder finals,” said Fahmi.
Meanwhile, national bowler Sharon Koh bagged her second women’s Masters title to take home RM3,000.

Sharon who won her first title in 2005, finished third with a 10-game score of 2,099 to qualify for the step-ladder finals.
Sharon defeated national bowler Shalin Zulkifli 205-184 and 215-193 to clinch the title. Earlier, Sharon defeated Kedah’s Tengku Emanina Tengku Sahir 202-141, 201-185 and national back-up bowler Nor Hanizah 255-189, 202-182.
Sarawak’s Jacqueline Jenelee Sijore won the girls’ Masters title while 12-year-old sensation Mohd Syafiq Sajeli triumphed in the boys’ graded division.
